"Are You the Woman at the Well?"
Held June 2, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV
During a unique opportunity for women who have faced abuse, depression, and even thoughts of suicide, attendees of our women's workshop learned how to become more than conquerors on the other side. The event was held at the Beacon Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Personal testimonies from women who escaped seemingly impossible circumstances in the search for their own destiny made this event one that won't soon be forgotten.
Naiomi Pitre, the CEO & Founder of Pray and Publish Books & Media Group, performed a theatrical monologue as the Samaritan woman at the well from the book of John, Chapter 4, in the Bible. She explored the revealing tale of the often misunderstood woman who met Jesus and had the honor of being the person who had the longest recorded one-on-one conversation with the Messiah in the Bible. Naiomi urged the participants to do real personal introspection and ask themselves, "What similarities do I have to this woman? Am I the woman at the well?"
Guest speakers included Pastor Carmen West of Nehemiah Ministries, Pastor Lavona Lewis of Lion of Judah Full Gospel Baptist Church, Dr. Karen Delcina Omosola, CEO of Exodus Family and Guidance Services, and Heather Engle, CEO of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. Guests played interactive games and had chances to win raffle prizes from our vendors - Jeanah Young of Mary Kay Cosmetics, Kristen Woodruff, author of You Are Not a Mess!, performer and artist Temphest Blue, and Natalia Powell of Talia's Gourmet Goodies. Spoken word and musical performances by Temphest Blue and Natalia Powell were enjoyed by all.
Food was generously donated by Ms. Sharon Harrell, owner of TC's World Famous Rib Crib.
